Village Ždiar in the High Tatras
Village Ždiar is one of the jewels of Slovakia. It is a distinctive village below the High Tatras with its typical traditions, habits, folklore and culture and more than 1300 residents. It has a specific folk architecture and goral settlement. All the surrounding area is incorporated into the Tatra National Park, nature reserve Goliasová, nature reserve Belianske Tatras, UNESCO and PRĽA. Endangered species of flora and fauna can be found in the whole area. The cadastre is a part of the national ecological network NECONET.
